Work with me!

I am always looking for and motivated students who want to work towards making tech more legally compliant, ethical, and respectful of its users’ digital rights.

Current opportunities to work with me are the following:

PhD Candidate in Online Privacy & Digital Rights

I am currently hiring a PhD candidate with a strong computer science background to join me at the Digital Security Group at Radboud University Nijmegen, with a preferred starting date of 1 January 2025.

The deadline for applications is 30 September 2024. Please visit the job opening page on the Radboud University website to learn more about requirements and the application procedure. If you have any questions, please reach out to me by email - but note that the actual application can only be considered if submitted via the university’s application system.

Bachelor’s and Master’s Theses

I am available to supervise theses on both the bachelor’s (NWI-IBC033) and the master’s level (NWI-IMC029 / NWI-IMK013) in Radboud University’s study programs in Computing Science and Information Sciences.

Potential research topics and methods include, but are not limited to:

I am also always open for students proposing their own topic ideas if they align with my general research interests. In the ideal case, a thesis lays the groundwork for a publication at top conferences for security & privacy or human-computer interaction, so before reaching out to me with a concrete topic, I would recommend to check if there is previous scientific work that has investigated the same or a very similar research question.

Research Internships

I am also available as a supervisor for research internships (NWI-IMC047), both for research projects conducted at the university (i.e., at the Digital Security group) and projects conducted with industry partners. For more information on the administrative side of the process, please join the corresponding Brightspace course, which provides comprehensive information.
